I am honored to become a part of Aldea’s work.  To be a part of an organization that deeply values our clients is a wonderful opportunity.  My approach to psychiatry is grounded in the belief that every individual has the capacity to develop and heal.  I also believe that every individual has the right to live in freedom from treatable suffering.

After studying political science, I volunteered at a health clinic in Indonesia for a year treating underserved girls and women.  I decided to pursue a career in medicine at that time.  After completing medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina, I chose to specialize in psychiatry.  I completed my psychiatry training at Stanford University and stayed on as a clinical faculty member there for a year before moving my practice to Napa.

My volunteer and career positions include working with Cambodian refugees in a community mental health clinic in San Jose, serving on faculty at Stanford University’s Women’s Wellness Clinic where women with mental illness were treated in pregnancy and postpartum, and working in private practice over the past 7 years.
